Melodie J. Hughes

Melodie J. Hughes is an Associate with the Bomza Law Group’s corporate immigration department, where she provides assistance and advice to corporate clients and individuals with Canadian, U.S. and Global immigration issues, including obtaining employment authorizations, temporary visas, and permanent residence status.

Melodie obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario. She first developed an interest in international human rights, refugee, and immigration law while working for a sole practitioner of immigration and refugee law in the Ottawa area. Prior to joining the Bomza Law Group, Melodie worked with the Appeals Chamber at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the Hague, Netherlands. Melodie has written several articles relating to immigration law and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association. She is fluent in English and French, and is conversant in Spanish and German.
