Over the past few years, Canada has experienced dynamic growth and activity in industries such as Information Technology (IT), Oil and Mining, Engineering, Finance and Film Production. Applying for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) & Health Card CoverageA Social Insurance Number (SIN) is required in order to work in Canada. This card can be applied for at any local Service Canada office. Offices are located in all major cities in Canada. Where an application has been filed in person at the local Service Canada office, you will, in most cases, be issued a SIN on the spot, with the physical card mailed to you at a later date. While there is no charge to make the initial application, charges may apply for replacement of cards if lost or stolen.
