Priority processing for applicants from the Philippines
2
In light of the major impact of Typhoon Ketsana on the Philippines, Citizenship and Immigration Canada is permitting the expedited processing of family sponsorships for nationals from the Philippines.
Effective immediately, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada visa office in the Philippines is responding on a priority basis for those directly affected by the disaster.
Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons who have close family members in the Philippines may sponsor them on an expedited basis if these members have been significantly affected by the typhoon. It is imperative in these circumstances that the sponsors or applicants notify the appropriate office accordingly.
New sponsorship applications should have “Philippines” prominently written on the mailing envelope. Existing applications must be updated by notifying an inland office or the overseas visa post.
