Rehabilitation Applications
Persons who have committed criminal acts outside of Canada are
inadmissible and are often denied admission to Canada as a result.
However, an application seeking rehabilitation approval may be successful
where one can persuade that demonstrate that there has been full
rehabilitation and there is little or no risk of future unlawful
activities. Sometimes this will necessitate an application for a
pardon under the Criminal Records Act.
Federal Court of Canada / Judicial Review
Proceedings
Where a negative decision is rendered with respect to an application for permanent
residence, an applicant may wish to challenge the decision of Immigration Canada before
the Federal Court of Canada. Timing and the process involved are strictly regulated under
the legislation.
