Humanitarian & Compassionate Class

There may be circumstances necessitating the admission of a person to Canada as a permanent resident, where they do not fit within any other available immigration categories.

Do I Qualify?

The factors underlying approval of Humanitarian and Compassionate applications are conform to current public policies and include persons who would be subjected to significant undue hardship if they were obligated to leave Canada. This may include

  • Individuals with long term financial or emotional connections to Canada, or a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Persons who feel obliged to remain in abusive relationships in order to remain in Canada
  • Individuals whose circumstances do not render them Convention refugees, but who would nonetheless be subjected to identifiable personal risk if obligated to leave Canada
