Free U.S. Work Visa Assessment:
Persons entering the United States for pleasure or exploration of possible future employment opportunities with no intention to reside permanently may be issued a visitor visa for single or multiple entries. Whether or not a foreign national is required to apply for a visitor visa from outside of the U.S. prior to entry depends on their country of nationality. See Visa Waiver Country list below.
Who is a Business Visitor?
Business Visitors are foreign nationals who plan to visit the United States temporarily to look for new business opportunities, to meet with clients of their foreign employer, to invest, or to advance existing business relationships. Business visitors from countries that require visas to visit the United States must apply for a temporary resident visa at a Consulate abroad. Foreign nationals from Visa Waiver countries must state their intentions for entering the United States either on the ESTA prior to travel, or when asked at the port of entry.
Visitors for Pleasure/Tourism
To visit the United States, applicants must have a valid travel document, such as a passport, be in good health and satisfy an immigration officer that they possess sufficient ties to their home countries, such as a job, home and family, to ensure that they will return home at the end of their visit in the United States.
Applicants must also confirm that they possess enough money for their stay and return to their home country. Applicants may need a temporary resident visa prior to their entry to Canada unless they are citizens of a Visa Waiver Country, or Canadian citizens.
Do I Need To Apply in Advance for A Visitor Visa?
The following countries are current members of the Visa Waiver Program:
Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
Do I Need to Enroll in the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) Prior to My U.S. Trip?
Citizens of Visa Waiver countries wishing to enter the U.S. are now required to provide their personal information via the ESTA automated system prior to travelling to the United States. The ESTA program determines a visitor’s eligibility to travel to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program. The ESTA application collects the same information collected on Form I-94W. ESTA applications may be submitted at anytime prior to travel, though it is recommended travelers apply when they begin preparing travel plans.
